Real national per capita with income generation approach from handicrafts
«»
For a country, incomes such as mother industries, natural resources (such as gold, oil…) as well as ownership of knowledge and technology are very important and valuable. But these factors work better for countries whose governments have the least intervention in the economy than countries where the level of government intervention in the economy is higher. Because the sources of wealth will be in the hands of the governments and this will prevent the truly fair distribution of these national wealth.
But some incomes go directly to the people and governments can only be the tax receivers of these financial transactions, which is very right and appropriate. The incomes from the sale of tourism and tourism services and industries such as handicrafts and manpower are from this category, and hence they can create wealth for a country like Iran.
Handicrafts are among the fields that have found a special position in today’s world due to their essential features. In recent decades, due to the importance of finding cultural industries in the world and the significant economic growth based on them, i.e., the creative economy, this field has been receiving increasing attention from many countries. Looking at the investments made in this sector at the world level, we will understand the importance of this issue. For example, according to the statistics of the World Bank, the turnover of handicrafts in the world has increased from about 36 billion dollars in 2004 to more than 135 billion dollars in 2011, and this is a good indication of the economic growth and development of this field in the world. Now, it must be said that this craft has a very special and different position in Iran. Our country has a relatively wide range and in many cases products unique to its culture in the field of handicrafts. In our country, the highest quality carpets, rugs, enamels, traditional textiles, coppersmithing, traditional ornaments, pottery and ceramics and many other handicrafts are produced, which makes us unrivaled in terms of quality and historical background.
It has one of the most privileged positions in our country, both in terms of the variety of products and active disciplines, and in terms of the beauty and quality of the works. But as mentioned earlier, in order for these features and capacities to continue on a stable basis in the course of today’s developments, it is necessary to have strong scientific and research supports.
Because in today’s world, where the pace of changes and changes in people’s lifestyles and attitudes has been reduced to hours and minutes, handicrafts must be updated with the help of field research and fundamental research in order to continue to be in the consumption basket of citizens. Therefore, it can be said that one of the important and effective components in the stability of the position of handicrafts in the current situation is its effective connection with research.
A category that is an undeniable necessity, both in terms of economic and job creation, as well as in terms of improving the quality of production and moving towards sustainable development. This is despite the fact that in fields such as creative economy, field research, knowledge of consumption markets and audience taste is one of the main factors for the economic growth of cultural industries and the acquisition of regional and global markets for these products.
But in a very clear and clear way, our share in the handicraft markets of the world and even the region is very small. While the government officials of handicrafts talk about the increase in exports, the producers and traders of handicrafts in Iran say that goods similar to traditional Iranian handicrafts produced in China and Pakistan will compete with Iranian goods in Iranian markets. missed With a weaker quality, but the price is very low and uncompetitive, and most importantly, the support of their governments in marketing these products.
This is while the declared export of Iran’s handicrafts in 2019 was about 300 million dollars, which is 5.5 billion dollars for China (which is of course the largest exporter of handicrafts in the world) and for example for Pakistan, which is comparable to us. It was about 1.5 million dollars (five times that of Iran).
In recent years, the producers of handicrafts in Iran have demanded a ban on the import of foreign handicrafts. But these producers must have other requests as well. like the:
Increase in the import tariff of foreign handicrafts
Suitable packaging for handicraft products
Ministry of Commerce incentives for exporters of Iranian handicrafts
Technical support and optimal international shipping solutions for handicrafts
Promoting and promoting the position of Iranian handicrafts in world markets
Academic support for this industry
It is worth mentioning that these industries often create employment among the low-income strata of the country, which can improve the process of wealth distribution and prevent migration from small towns and villages to larger cities. Handicrafts and tourism are services that will provide appropriate financial resources to reduce poverty in society, especially among women and youth.
However, most of the countries that are called developing are famous in one or two economic goods and get most of their economic income, evaluation, etc. by relying on these items, while in today’s world, the level of interest and The tastes of the customers in the market are very diverse and it is no longer possible to survive in the world economy by producing only one type of product as in the past.
In our country, the phenomenon of relying on a single-product economy has been woven into the fabric of the country’s economy for years, and it is getting wider every day, and the solution that most economists have proposed is to reduce the reliance on a single-dimensional economy by expanding the field of activity in various fields. .
Handicrafts and similar disciplines, especially in our country, which has a rich and ancient culture and civilization, including suitable platforms and fields for solving the void
It is a single product of this economy and it is a local and multi-faceted product and product that can be used in several ways:
From an economic point of view, it is a product and a work that, in addition to the fact that its raw materials are prepared inside and can employ different classes of people, it also has the characteristics of currency and income generation.
From the cultural aspect, handicrafts are one of the symbols and symbols of the country’s rich culture and civilization, which, in addition to increasing our international reputation in the cultural dimension, can be effective in attracting tourists and foreign investment.
Handicrafts is one of the disciplines that both the raw materials are available and cheap, and it has an inseparable connection with the soul and nature of the villagers since ancient times, and therefore it can be effective in eliminating or at least reducing the phenomenon of migration.
Also, handicrafts in reducing the vacuums caused by single-product economy is that, in terms of its nature, it is never subject to conditions like oil, which foreigners can use as a lever of pressure against the country that owns it, but on the contrary, this craft is in every A situation can continue to exist, because its audience and customers are not the only governments and macroeconomic investors who, whenever they feel like, turn the market and the owner of that product into a tool to pressure the owner.
But one thing is certain in this regard, and that is the need for the government and the government to give importance to the effective role of handicrafts and of course the tourism industry in reducing the main problem of the country’s economy, which is to break its reliance on oil, which we hope the government, parliament and other effective institutions will do with tact. and take steps to approve and implement specific and supportive laws in this field.
