Marvast old castle will be reconstructed in order to support its owners

The cultural heritage assistant director of Yazd Cultural heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization(Yazd CHTO), Mr. Sasha Riyahi Moghadam announced "The 1400 years old castle of Marvast with the height of 6 m. and an area of 8000 sq.m. is unique in its kind and located on an ancient hill.The height, strength and majesty of the castle attract every viewer and more tourists come to Marvast to visit the castle every year."

He said that due to the castle importance, this building is a city landmark in Marvast. The castle shape in its plan is as a trapezoid with a square base. The congress of the ramparts is a beautiful rhythm at the top of ramparts and has created a common line with the sky. There is a rectangular that is the fortress citadel at the southwest corner and west part of the castle.

Mr. Riyahi Moghadam said "Based on the implementation of article 5 of the Preserve National Monuments enactment approved in 1309 and in order to support the owners and beneficiaries of historical monuments, the castle will be reconstructed."

About the ongoing repairment he said " The repairment that is being done in the castle is as follows:"

-Strengthening by adobe bricks and mud mortar

-Sewing by a kind of wood named Shuruna

-Other essential repairment
